Before you stands a rose
Such a pretty little thing
So dear to your heart
that you could almost sing
But you would neglect it
you fail to give it care
A single petal blackens
And tumbles through the air
Before you stands a rose
who's needs you would deny
On the plinth you place below it
more petals come to lie
You must learn to hear its voice
You must understand its cries
But every time you fail
another petal dies
Before you stands a rose
Its petals lying dead
The final one has fallen
Like a tear that has been shed
The final petal comes to rest
It just could not hang on on
You didn't learn to hear its voice
And now your final chance is gone
Such a pretty little thing
So dear to your heart
that you could almost sing
But you would neglect it
you fail to give it care
A single petal blackens
And tumbles through the air
Before you stands a rose
who's needs you would deny
On the plinth you place below it
more petals come to lie
You must learn to hear its voice
You must understand its cries
But every time you fail
another petal dies
Before you stands a rose
Its petals lying dead
The final one has fallen
Like a tear that has been shed
The final petal comes to rest
It just could not hang on on
You didn't learn to hear its voice
And now your final chance is gone
